BBBS

The Ronkonkoma Rotary Club was visited this morning by Mr. James Scala from Big Brothers Big Sisters.

This is an organization that pairs kids with adults who become mentors to all types of situations. BBBS is self funded and the Ronkonkoma Rotary did their part through a skating event earlier in the year..

Mentors are very carefully screened and go through a rigirous training fot a one year minimum commitment.

BBBS also offer preventive services for kids that are struggling as well as college bound individuals. They currently have college support at Stony Brook and Hofstra. They also have site matching programs at the Sachem School District
